Normative: this is the rule
  1. Retired with the polled status surface.
  2. A transition to running carried the node type and start time, to completed the execution time and output size, to failed the error, and to interrupted the interrupt id and type.
  3. These payloads outlived the surface, still riding the runtime status broadcasts.
